Frequently asked questions.

Q1. Where are the mice going to die?
A1. The mice are going to die anywhere in or around the structure when the lethal dose of the bait hits them.  There is no bait that will lead a mouse out of a structure to die.  Any such claims are false and this is a myth that mice will go out and die after they eat the bait.  Even if you do not do anything mice can die in your walls and around your home.  The lifespan of a mouse is approximately one year.

Q2. Will the mice smell if they die in my house?
A2. This is a possibility.  Most of the time people do not smell dead mice in the home unless the infestation is severe.  Mice will normally die in wall voids and sub-floors where they are nesting.  Mice decompose in about 2 weeks so there is a brief window of time that an odor could be detected if they were to die in a place where there is air circulating into the general occupied space of the structure.

Q3. If a mouse poisoned by the bait dies and my pet eats it will it hurt my pet?
A3. This is a difficult one to answer.  What we are referring to here is called secondary kill.  The dog or cat eats a mouse that was poisoned by bait.  Baits tend to work based on size weight ratios of their target.  A mouse that weighs a mere 1 to 2 ounces needs only a very small amount of product to result in a lethal dose.  If a pet were to unfortunately consume a mouse that consumed the bait the lethal amount for the mouse would not be a lethal amount for a predator as large as a cat or dog.  The simple answer is that it should not result in a kill of the pet whatsoever.  On the other hand ingesting any amount of poison is not a good thing and it would be possible for a pet to consume a small amount of product if they were to feed on the poisoned mouse.  In my fifteen years of personal experience I have never seen or heard of a secondary kill to a pet from a poisoned mouse.
